Electric Arc Furnace

Around an electric arc furnace or a ladle refining furnace, everything is exposed directly to arc heat and slag, so the roof, shell and water-cooled parts wear out fastest of all. Redrawing for every replacement is a real burden, which is why we are often asked to supply equivalents to an existing item. We arrange manufacture of these units at partner workshops in China to drawing and specification, then inspect and export.

Conditions that rarely show on a drawing — water-cooling pipe routing, interface dimensions with refractories — are settled by discussion before work starts. Where drawings no longer exist, we can often work from dimensions taken off the existing unit. Enquiries in Japanese are welcome.
